Staff Information


Each of our office staff has been chosen with you in mind. Carol and Pat are our registered nurses who play an integral part in patient care. They give us the ability to respond rapidly to your phone calls, review lab results and offer patient counseling.
Our medical assistants, Nisha, Michelle, and Regina, assist us by taking your vital signs, helping in the exam room, and drawing blood for laboratory testing.
Our front office manager, Francis, makes sure you get the appointment time most convenient to you and is always eager to assist you in any other way she can.
Our practice manager, Peggy, will be happy to trouble-shoot for you and help you understand the very confusing world of insurance. We all want to make your experience in our office the least stressful.

Thermachoice endometrial ablation

Procedure Description:
treatment of excessive uterine bleeding

What To Expect:
What to expect at the office:

1. After check-in, a nurse will bring you into the exam room.
2. The consent will be reviewed and signed.
3. You will receive an injection of pain medicine (Toradol).
4. A small heating pad will be placed on your abdomen.
5. You will rest comfortably for 15-30 minutes.
6. The doctor will inject local anesthesia.
7. The doctor will look inside the uterus and then complete the ablation procedure.
8. After the procedure, you will be given post-procedure instructions.
9. You may receive another injection prior to discharge home.

Preprocedure:
The day of your procedure:

1. Eat a light meal before the procedure and have plenty of fluids.
2. Take 10 mg of Valium 30 minutes before your appointment time.
3. Take one Vicodin ES 30 minutes before your appointment time.
4. A urine pregnancy test may be performed in the office prior to the procedure if indicated.
5. You must have someone drive you to and from the office.

Postprocedure:
Post-Procedure Endometrial Ablation Instructions

1. Continue to take the ibuprofen 600-800 mg every 6 hours with food for 24 hours following the procedure. If you do not continue the ibuprofen, the discomfort may quickly worsen once the pain medication and local anesthesia wear off.
2. It is normal to experience some cramping and nausea after your procedure.
3. You should rest for the remainder of the day.
4. You may resume normal activities the following day.
5. No tampons, intercourse or tub baths until your doctor has seen you at your 2 week visit.
6. If you have a fever greater than 100.5F or severe abdominal pain, call the office.
7. Expect vaginal discharge for 2-3 weeks, beginning 3-5 days after the procedure. It may be red the first few days, pinkish by one week, and profuse and watery thereafter.

Post-Procedure Instructions for Essure

1. Continue to take the ibuprofen 600-800 mg, or Vicodin ES every 6 hours with food, as needed.
2. It is normal to experience some cramping and nausea for the first 2-6 hours after your procedure.
3. You should rest for the remainder of the day.
4. You may resume normal activities in 1-2 days.
5. You may resume sexual intercourse in 2 weeks or after the discharge stops, whichever happens last.
6. If you have a fever greater than 100.5F or severe abdominal pain, call the office.
7. Obtain a completed ID card before you leave and keep it with you at all times.
8. You will need to schedule an x-ray test through our office called an Essure confirmation test. This is performed to make sure both of your Essure micro-inserts are in the correct position and that both of your tubes have been blocked.
9. You MUST use another form of contraception, other than an IUD, until you have the confirmation test and your doctor tells you that you can rely on Essure for contracep
